Happy Dollars
Salin Low is on her way to a cross Canada train trip. She noted that she was in Slovakia a couple of weeks ago and came in this morning because of the program.
Ann Clark gave $5 happy dollars as she wanted to thank the club from the bottom of her heart for the honor that the club gave her as an honorary Rotarian at last weeks installation dinner. She was totally surprised, which is rare for Ann. She went on to say that we should know how much this club means to her and that she considers us her family! (Editors Question: While I totally agree with honoring Ann, I am left wondering how can a long standing and valued member of our club be made an "honorary" member?)
Sue Budde gave 3 happy dollars. The first was because she was being mean to our new Sgt-at-Arms (who needs to learn the power of the fine) and the rest as a plea to try and wrap up all the preparation for the golf tournament early, because she needs to go to Ohio the week before the tournament to pick up her new puppy.
Gary Roman noted that he and his twin (by another mother) brother Bill Barnes both celebrated their birthday on July 4 and did not need another song!!!
Gary Miller who was joined by his wife who was here to a bag of balls to Jolly Lux for an up coming trip to her medical mission in Uganda. The balls are all deflated to make transport easier. Gary also reported that, in theory, they are leaving Sunday night at 10 PM for a flight to Heathrow. Hopefully their bags will arrive with them and they will then spend 2 1/2 weeks traveling around England.
Yvonne Gardner has missed us and was happy to be here. She is also heading off to a family vacation in RI.
Jolly Lux had $5 happy dollars as she is really happy, happy, happy as her upcoming trip to Uganda is happening on Monday. They are going to be able to do a hygiene and sanitation project in conjunction with the schools. She also wanted to thank the club, because without us, all of this wouldn't be possible. She thanked the Miller's for the sports equipment, because one of the things that they want to do is to keep children is school, and sports is something that helps.
