Greg DeManche grew up in East Hartford, Connecticut and lived in Pennsylvania, Tangier, Morocco, and Indiana before settling in Avon. While earning his Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, he was recruited for the rifle team and received varsity letters in track and field, football and soccer. At Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut he received his Master of Arts in Education and earned his Connecticut secondary school teacher certification. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence at Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Greg is currently an attorney at DeManche, McChristian, LLC in Avon. Previously he was a teacher, coach and dormitory master at the Rectory School in Pomfret, Connecticut; Director of Athletics, coach and teacher at The American School, Tangier, Morocco; Assistant Athletic Director, coach and teacher at The Park Tudor School, Indianapolis, Indiana; Tax Examiner and Senior Analyst at Indiana State Department of Tax and Department of Commerce; and Sales and finance executive at United Technologies Corporation, Otis Elevator Company, Indianapolis, Indiana and Farmington, Connecticut.

Greg and his wife Michelle have four children: Brenden, age twenty-seven, BSCE, Computer Engineer, Manager-Global Supply Chain Operations, United Technologies Corporation, Aerospace Systems, now known as Collins Aerospace Systems, Headquarters, Charlotte, North Carolina; Jeffrey, age twenty-five, M.S. Acy., Accountant, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Hartford, Connecticut; Alyssa, age twenty, University High School of Science and Engineering at University of Hartford (UHSSE), 2017 Valedictorian, and now Presidential Scholar at University of Connecticut majoring in biology, pre-medicine; and Katelyn, age 16, UHSSE junior.

A Paul Harris Fellow, Greg is especially proud to have been an Avon-Canton Rotarian since 2004. Other recognitions and achievements include Congressional Appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York; Army ROTC four-year college scholarship award; performed or assisted in the performance of CPR and several water rescues as a lifeguard-water safety-first aid instructor during college and early post-college years; Assistant Scoutmaster and Associate Crew Team Advisor, Troop/Crew 114, Canton for ten years; and Order of the Arrow National Honor Society-Brotherhood (sons Brenden and Jeffrey are both Double Silver Palm Eagle Scouts and Order of the Arrow); former member of Connecticut Canine Search and Rescue team; and former equine search and rescue, land navigation instructor, First Lieutenant, Adjutant, Executive Officer (acting), and elected Major, Commandant - First Company Governor’s Horse Guards, Avon from 2008 to 2014.

Greg is a New England Patriots season ticket holder and participates in pistol, revolver and rifle shooting sports as a member of Metacon Gun Club, Simsbury, as well as hiking, camping, cooking and any activities with his children. Greg is very fond of horses and dogs and there are three cats in his family (“one for each female household member”).
