Mike Mezheritskiy, aka, Misha, was born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine. In 1994, at the age of seventeen his family moved to Boston, Massachusetts. Mike recalls skipping all his English lessons in school, thinking, “Why in the world would I want to learn English? It’s not like I am ever going to use it!” His first job was as a dishwasher at McDonald’s. Within a year he was promoted to Shift Manager - a very big deal for him at the time. Next he went to work at the Doubletree Hotel in Waltham, Massachusetts which was frequented by a number of local and visiting sports figures. During his time there he met Larry Bird, Dominique Wilkins, Rick Pitino, and Bobby Orr. He even helped Kenny Anderson jump-start his Cadillac.

After working full time and going to school at night, Mike graduated from Suffolk University in downtown Boston with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and a minor in Computer Information Systems. He was hired by Fidelity Investments during his junior year and is very grateful for the experience he was able to obtain there working with Fortune 500 companies’ 401(k) plans, Fidelity’s largest non-profit 403(b) account and deferred compensation plans for municipalities. In 2005, he was offered a position as a Financial Planner in Fidelity’s West Hartford office. After assuming that role, he was quickly promoted to its Private Client Group where he worked exclusively with high net-worth individuals and managed close to one billion dollars in assets.

In 2013 Mike decided to venture out on his own and started Milestone Asset Management Group, a fee-only wealth management firm. Today it is a growing enterprise consisting of five persons and locations in Avon and Milford, Connecticut.

Mike is married to Nelly, whom he met while she was on a date with another guy. Together they have four children: Shaina - eleven, Iliana - nine, Nathan - six, and Sam - two. Shaina and Nathan play competitive chess and travel with their parents up and down the east coast to compete in tournaments. Mike has one younger brother.

Mike is very proud and honored to be Rotary of Avon-Canton’s current president. He feels the club has an amazing group of members that accomplishes great things and makes an enormous difference in our community. In his spare time Mike enjoys “goofing around with the kids” and training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which he has been doing for over nine years.
