Salin Low grew up in Oklahoma and lived in Manhattan, Dallas, Tulsa, and Philadelphia before moving to Connecticut. She attended William and Mary and the University of Oklahoma for undergraduate studies, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. Later she received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tulsa and a Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary. Before going to seminary, she spent sixteen years in public accounting and banking.

Salin has lived in Connecticut since 1993 and was rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in New Hartford before she retired in 2014. She now substitutes and leads services at various parishes. She also serves on several boards and committees for the Episcopal Church in Connecticut. Salin lives in Canton in the Oxbow Ridge townhomes and is now President of the Board for the residents’ association. Her husband died in 2016, so her golden retriever, Ellie is now in charge of the household. Salin’s hobbies include knitting and going to the movies.

Salin joined Rotary in 1995. She was Sergeant-at-Arms in three different years, “when the job was much easier than it is now”. She finally made it to Club President in 2014-2015. She was Foundation Chair for five years and has organized the annual seniors’ luncheon for about fifteen years. Salin served as a backup for several editors of the Early Riser Newsletter for many years and became one of its regular editors in 2012. She enjoys Rotary’s camaraderie and opportunities for service.
